There are a number of organisations that can assist you with help in the home. Such services range from the provision of meals, assistance with transport, care and social support. In 2014 the Australian Government launched the My Aged Care website which is a comprehensive website providing information about services available to all older Australians. This is an excellent website for anyone who would like to know what is available to them.
Neighbourhood Centres and your local Council can also provide you with further information of what may be available in your area. Private operators are also able to assist you on a fee for service basis. It is always good to shop around to make sure you get the best price and the service you want.

The Waverton Hub
The Waverton Hub is a great example of the power of community. The Hub is a mutual organisation of the residents of Waverton, Wollstonecraft and neighbouring areas in Sydney. They believe that as they grow older, their members should work to help each other enjoy their lives, stay in their own homes for as long as possible, remain as healthy as they can and achieve this for as little cost as possible.
